Today was Noah's class Christmas party. They were supposed to have it the Friday before they broke for Christmas vacation, but we got a really nasty ice storm the night before and school was cancelled that day. So, in order to get on with the business of learning, they decided to have the party today so they could go ahead and start up with their lessons for the new year. Livie and I went today to celebrate with him. We brought our Christmas BINGO game, which is always a hit with the kids. We have a halloween edition, a christmas edition, and a valentine's day edition, so we are the "game people" for all their class parties. :-) Noah was the very first winner today at BINGO. I felt a little bad, since he is my boy and I didn't want to show favoritism, but no one seemed to mind. Plus, it's not like a rigged it or something. He just was lucky today! Good job, buddy!!
After we finished with BINGO, then they got to eat their snacks and chat for a few minutes. The snack though was covered in coconut, so I believe only 2 kids actually took the snack. So, snacktime was a quick one. They didn't mind though, because then it was time for the gift exchange! Woo-Hoo! They're only allowed to buy a gift that costs $3 and they are pretty strict about that. Next time you're shopping see how easy it is to find an interesting and fun gift for $3. NOT EASY! It's a bit easier for boys, because - thank goodness for Matchbox! - they have quiet a selection of cars. Noah gave his gift of a motorcycle to Spencer and he got a box full of candy from his friend Justin. Livie was thrilled! It had lollipops, bubble gum, and christmas marshmallow things. Isn't that a cute idea?!
After the gift exchange we still had some time left before dismissal, so they gathered around for circle time.
They played "hot santa bear", since potatoes aren't very christmasy. Noah almost won the first game! He was one of the last three. The second game though, he only made it about halfway, but they all loved playing. It was fun to watch them!

This is the first party I got to go to in Noah's classroom. He wanted Pete to go to the Halloween one. But, I volunteer in there every week, so I get to see him a lot and have gotten to know his classmates. It was a fun time and Livie really enjoyed getting to hang out with him too. I can tell he's got lots of friends and really seems like a good listener when he's there. I had lots of "Proud Mommy" moments today. Even though he keeps me on my toes, he's a sweet little boy and I love him so much. :-)
