New Jersey, Here We Come!

This is my Grandma and Grandpa Drexler's house. It looks a bit different now than it looked like back when they lived there, but the spirit of the house is still theirs. I think I've mentioned this before, but this year is the 100th celebration of the church my grandpa pastored at for over 50 yrs of his life. The Drexler name there is a special one, so when the 100th anniversary came up, the church contacted my aunt to see if any of the extended Drexler family would be able to come out for it. Well, we were all thrilled to say the least. Not only could we go out there and celebrate a church that is close to our hearts, but at the same time have a big 'ole family reunion! So, emails have been flying for the past several months as we try and arrange our plans. My aunt continues to be the go-to person in all of this, because she's working with the church to organize our visit. Last night Pete and I booked our hotel rooms for our trip. We originally were going to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's house, because no one is currently living there and we were invited to use it, but we figured we might as well get a hotel, since we can use Pete's points and get the nights free, so those that don't have that option, can use the house. We'll be staying like a mile away, so we'll still get to hang out and have lots of fun with everyone. My whole family - mom, dad, Micah, Em, and their families are going. My aunt, uncle, and 2 of their children and their families are going. My Uncle Carl's family lives in NJ, so I think we're going to get to see all of them. And, we're hoping that my Aunt in North Carolina and some of her family will be able to go too. :-) I'm so excited to get one final opportunity to celebrate the life of my grandparents by honoring the church that was such a huge part of their lives. And, to visit Runnemede again. We went out there every year until I was in college and my grandpa had to move. It remains close to my heart and holds lots of wonderful memories for me. We're hoping to make really special memories with the kids too, by maybe taking them to the shore, going to see the sites in Philly, and hitting Hershey, PA on the way home. :-) The only thing I wish was still possible was to enjoy all this with my Grandma and Grandpa. Aunt Annie too. But, we'll celebrate the memory of them and be forever thankful that we were invited to share in this wonderful celebration of Mt Calvary Union Church. The little church behind their house that houses beautiful people and beautiful memories. :-) Here we come, New Jersery!!!!
