The Weekend

Well, this weekend Em, Jeff, and Kendalyn were able to come out. Yay! We were so excited to see Keni again. We hadn't seen her since Christmas and they grow so fast at this age, so we're very thankful that they came out to visit, even after we cancelled on them last weekend because of Noah's strep. They were supposed to leave Sunday, because Em had to go back to work, but she was able to get out of it, so they left yesterday instead.

We took them out to Hanks when they got here on Friday. We always go to Cracker Barrell when we have company, because it's about the only place in town. But, we love Hanks and hadn't been there in a while and since Em and Jeff had NEVER been there, we decided to go there. The kids love it, because it's farm-like in that they have animals and stuff. Usually the animals are behind the fence, but when we got there, there were a few roamers! These turkeys greeted us as we got out of our car. They must not have been very happy with us taking their pictures, because they were gobbling something fierce!

Then as we got closer to the door to the restaurant, we were greeted by this peacock. He was just moseying along. Not a care in the world. The kids loved that!

This picture is for my dad. We wanted to show off that we had crab legs for supper. ;-)

Livie was so excited to see her cousin. Livie is just fascinated by her. I think she thinks she's a little doll, because, as you'll see later, she brought up a bunch of doll stuff to try on her. ;-)

Now, Papa sent out some Star Wars cards, so the kids got right to checking those out. They were very excited!! Thanks Papa!

When Kendalyn was on the floor, the kids decided to show her their stuffed animals and apparently one wasn't enough. She got covered rather quickly. ;-)

Em and Jeff brought out Noah's bday present, which was a blue sock monkey!!! To say he was thrilled was an understatement. He didn't have a blue one and since it matched his red one, he carted those things around and played with them all weekend.

And, in honor of Noah's sock monkey obsession, they dressed Keni up in her sock monkey pjs. :-) Noah was pretty excited about that too.

This is the part I mentioned a little earlier. The girls wanted to dress her up in doll clothes, but I told them the outfits wouldn't fit. So, they tried hats. First was this cowboy hat. She seemed to tolerate that without being too upset.

But after being covered in stuffed animals and forced to wear hats and doll slippers, the bunny hat was the last straw. She let us know she was over it by then. ;-) She was a good sport for most of it though.

Later Uncle Pete got to get some snuggle time in. That is, when I would finally give her back. Having a newborn in the house again was so fun. Pete fed her and burped her and you'd never know it had been 4 yrs since we did all that. It was like riding a bike, only much more fun!!

I just took this, because I thought she was adorable. :-)

And, here she is packed and ready to head home. We had a great time with her! She's a sweet, sweet baby and it's so fun to get to see her when she's so little. Though I didn't take a lot of pictures of Em, Jeff, and us, we had a fabulous time with them too. Stayed up playing Wii most nights and laughed harder than we've laughed in ages. It was hilarious!! If you ever want to have a good time, play 4-player Mario Bros when trying to outdo each other to get the most points. It was so, so funny! Anyway, we had a great time and I'm looking forward to seeing them all again during spring break. :-)
