Today was the last full day of school. They actually have to go in tomorrow morning at 8:30 just to pick up report cards, but that's it. So, here Noah is carrying his very heavy backpack full of papers and school supplies and all that, as well as his plastic bag of PE shoes and whatnot.
Madie and Michael also carrying their super-heavy backpacks - which they all passed off to me as soon as they got out of school. All us moms end up carrying coats, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc.. while they go off and play. :-)
There are two crab apple trees on one side of the school grounds and Noah tries to get a quick climb in every day when they get let out. Today was no different. His best friend Keeden had already left with his grandma by the time Noah got to his tree climbing.
You'll see a rock in the background. My kids go to this rock every single stinkin' day! It's on the opposite side from where I park, yet this rock calls to them somehow, because they always seem to migrate towards it. And, I end up yelling for them a good 3-4 times before they finally make their way back in the direction of the van. The little girl is Zoe. She's in Noah's class and she plays with my kids, Michael and his brother Andrew, and Keeden every day. I'm sure they're going to miss those 15 min they get to play when school gets out, because it's become quite a routine for them. :-)
So, here they are. My 3 little orneries saying goodbye to another year of school. Noah LOVED his first year at the big school. Making some really special friends and his very first best friend. Madie too having a great year - having her first best BOY friend and finding, apparently, her future husband in him as well. I was told last week they're engaged, so look for announcements to out for the wedding, sometime in 2021. Goodbye Marseilles Elementary. We're getting ready for a fun-filled summer now!
