Bible Study

We have been part of a small group for the first time since coming to this church 10 yrs ago. We started a series on called "The Prodigal God" back in Feb and met every Sunday evening for a bible study and then we had a potluck dinner together. We loved it so much that we decided to continue it even after that 6-week series had ended. Now we meet the first Sunday of every month and I've got to tell you, we look forward to that Sunday sooo much! Our pastor and his wife are a part of the group and, though he led the last series, he thought it would be a good idea for us to each take a turn leading. This month was Pete's turn. He was the first of us to lead with this new video series. He did such a great job! He really did well leading the discussion and I was really proud of him. :-) I took my camera today to take some pictures, because I am a blogger at heart and love to have photos of things we do. I figured why not take pictures of this great group of friends we have..... so, I did! I didn't take any during the actual bible study, because I didn't want to interrupt that special time we have with God just to take pictures, so I waited until it was time for dinner. The kids played outside with their babysitter the entire time and were nice and hungry by the time we were done with our discussion.

Since it was SUCH a beautiful, wonderful spring day, we all ate outside. Every week we meet at our friends Brett and Lee Ann's house. They have a really big backyard, with lots of seating, so this was the first opportunity we had to enjoy being outside as a group. So glad I took my camera today! Here all the kids, minus the 2 youngest (who are 1 and 2), eating their froggy apples I made - slices of green apples with pb, grapes and chocolate chips. They were a hit!

This is Brett! Bless his sweet heart. He pushed the boys in that jeep for 2 big laps around the yard and then pushed another lap with Livie on his back!!

The kids were playing on the trampoline most of our time there, until Lee Ann broke out the smores! They all went over and huddled around the fire pit and cooked them up. Love the smell of a bonfire. It was just fantastic!

Marshmallow-covered face are the best! Here they are with Brett and Lee Ann's beautiful children. :-)

We called it a night and said our goodbyes around 8 tonight. The kids were crying and pouting and sad, because they did NOT want to leave. They were just having way too much fun to go home. I told everyone, you know it's a good day when the kids come home filthy and tired! And, so they did. They are a mess, they smell like smoke, and were exhausted, but that means they had an evening packed full of fun with great friends. And, so did we. We came home full, tired, but joyful for getting to gather with such a great group of Godly, funny, fantastic friends!
